Frequently Asked Questions

Whether it’s vaccination, injury treatment, or health screenings, our professional clinical team is equipped to handle any medical need.

Whether it’s a virtual or in-person medical clinic, health clinic, urgent care clinic, walk-in clinic, urgent care center, or IV infusion clinic, travel health and vaccinations, sports medicine, occupational health, and more, you can expect fast, affordable, and expert medical care. Our urgent care service is available when you need immediate care and your primary care doctor is unavailable.

You should choose comprehensive internal medicine and primary care for general medical concerns anytime you need care for non-emergency health issues like sinus problems, respiratory infections, allergies, flu symptoms, rashes, and many other illnesses. Our providers are available 24/7 by phone, video, or mobile app. Your doctor will diagnose your symptoms and provide a treatment plan, which may or may not include a prescription.

Please note that you should not use DCM Telehealth Services if you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency. In the event of a medical emergency, please call 911.

The main difference between urgent care and the emergency room (ER) is that urgent care centers treat non-life-threatening conditions on a walk-in basis, often with shorter wait times and lower costs, while the ER is equipped to handle life-threatening emergencies and operates 24/7.

You should visit our urgent care center when you have a non-life-threatening medical issue that needs prompt attention, such as minor injuries, illnesses like colds or flu, or when you can’t wait for a regular doctor’s appointment.

Our urgent care services include treatment of the following health conditions.

Stop compromising your health due to long waits, exorbitant fees, or inconvenient timing and use DCM Health services virtual and in-person urgent care.

The average urgent care cost without insurance or self-pay is between $130 and $180. Urgent care copays are often much less if you have health insurance or Medicaid.

If you visit an emergency room, your base cost is approximately $1,300plus any additional services.

Our  Urgent Care centers will be  open daily—even on weekends and holidays—so you and your loved ones always have access to quality care.

Here are more reasons to choose our urgent care services:

  1. Swift and Efficient Service

  4. State-of-the-Art Facilities: Your DCM Health service clinic  has plans to use modern medical tools, like X-ray and EKG machines, so you receive full care in one place without unnecessary travel.

When you call or send and message to our provider through our website, or portal, they will screen you immediately to let you know if you should come in-person or if you or your case can be handle by Telehealth or virtual urgent care.

Virtual urgent care offers unmatched convenience and speed for minor, non-emergency conditions like a sore throat or rash, saving you time and travel. In-person urgent care is better for conditions requiring a physical exam, such as a potential broken bone or deep cut. Choose virtual for comfort and accessibility, but opt for in-person when a hands-on diagnosis or treatment, like stitches or dehydration treatment, is necessary.

Choose Virtual Urgent Care When:

  • You need convenience: and want to avoid leaving home, even for minor issues like a cold or skin rash.
  • You are in a remote location: or have mobility issues that make traveling to a clinic difficult.
  • You need quick access: to a provider for minor symptoms like a cough, allergies, or a mild fever.
  • You want to save time, as virtual visits are typically much faster and have shorter wait times than in-person visits.
  • You need a prescription refill: for a chronic condition, as a quick virtual visit can sometimes suffice.

Choose In-Person Urgent Care When:

  • Your condition requires a physical examination, such as a suspected broken bone, head injury, or sprained ankle.
  • You have a severe condition: like significant dehydration or a deep cut that needs stitches, which cannot be assessed virtually.
  • You have a more serious infection: like a severe ear infection that needs a hands-on examination and potential testing.
  • You have technical difficulties: with your internet connection that prevent a clear video consultation.
  • Your provider recommends it, as a virtual visit may lead to a referral for an in-person follow-up or diagnostic testing.

Go to the Emergency Room (ER) for life-threatening or severely debilitating conditions, such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, major trauma, severe bleeding, loss of consciousness, stroke symptoms, or severe allergic reactions.

Seek immediate ER care for conditions that are serious, potentially life-threatening, or could result in permanent disability. Call 911 or go to the ER for:

  • Chest Pain: Signs of a heart attack or severe heart-related issues.
  • Breathing Difficulties: Severe shortness of breath or inability to breathe.
  • Serious Injuries: Major trauma, deep cuts with uncontrolled bleeding, head injuries with loss of consciousness, or broken bones that break the skin.
  • Stroke Symptoms: Sudden numbness or weakness, difficulty speaking, vision loss, or severe dizziness.
  • Loss of Consciousness: Fainting, loss of consciousness, or seizures.
  • Severe Allergic Reactions: Such as severe swelling or hives after an allergen exposure.
  • Mental Health Crises: For example, suicidal thoughts.

DCM Health Services does not dispense prescription drugs. If the doctor prescribes medication, it is submitted electronically or by phone to the pharmacy of your choice.

DCM  Health  services does not guarantee prescriptions. It is up to the provider to recommend the best treatment. DCM Health Services providers do not issue prescriptions for substances controlled by the DEA, non-therapeutic and/or certain other drugs that may be harmful because of their potential for abuse except in emergency or special occasions after appropriate screening. Also, non-therapeutic drugs such as Viagra and Cialis are not prescribed by DCM Health providers on regular bases except on special occasions after consultations and follow up guaranteed.

DCM Health Services will send you an email when your prescription is submitted. We suggest contacting your selected pharmacy to confirm when your prescription will be ready

GLP-1 medications (including refills) may not be available through DCM Health Services Health General Medical.  Urgent care visits are meant to treat acute conditions, like a cold or short-term illness. They are not meant to treat chronic conditions or provide long-term care. Using a GLP-1 medication requires a patient–care provider relationship with regular follow-up and monitoring to ensure that use is safe and effective. We encourage you to discuss your weight loss goals with your DCM Health  Services Primary Care provider (if eligible) or regular primary care provider to see if a GLP-1 medication is right for you.

If you’re overwhelmed, not feeling like yourself, confused about a personal situation, or experiencing anxiety or depression, we can help.

Mental Health services allow you to schedule a visit with a licensed therapist or to schedule an appointment with a psychiatric provider for help managing medications or more serious diagnoses.

Therapists and psychiatrists are available for appointments seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Visits can take place wherever you are most comfortable, by phone or video. Visits with a therapist only last as long as you feel you need them.

After you place your test order online or by phone, STDcheck will fax a doctor-authorized test requisition to the local lab of your choosing. At the lab walk-in visit, you’ll have a quick specimen draw. The lab visit typically takes about 15 minutes. In three business days or less, you’ll receive a discreet email directing you to log in to your secure account on the STDcheck system to view your test results.

For patients whose test results are positive or require further explanation, you can request a consult with an STDcheck doctor. If appropriate, the doctor will write a prescription for treatment or help connect you to further care.

Your lab results will not be added to your record and will not be sent to your primary care but you can request a copy.

Men’s and women’s health work differently due to biological, social, and behavioral factors, leading to variations in disease prevalence, risk, and life expectancy. While both sexes face conditions like heart disease and diabetes, men often have higher rates of chronic conditions, heart disease, and stroke, while women are more prone to arthritis and depression. These differences are influenced by  hormonal fluctuations, genetic factors, lifestyle choices like diet and exercise, and societal influences that can impact how health symptoms are perceived and treated.

Biological and Genetic Factors

  • Hormones: Hormones like testosterone influence physical development and risk for certain conditions.
  • At DCM we check your testosterone and do hormonal replacement  therapy for low testosterone.
  • We also consider Common oral medications (PDE5 inhibitors) where appropriate and with safe use and proper follow up.
  • These are the most common treatments for Erectile Dysfunctions, working by relaxing muscles in the penis to increase blood flow:
  • Sildenafil (Viagra): A well-known, time-tested option that starts working in about 30-60 minutes and lasts for 4-6 hours.

  • Tadalafil (Cialis): Known for its longer-lasting effects, which can last up to 36 hours, making it suitable for regular use.

  • Avanafil (Stendra): Works relatively quickly, potentially starting in as little as 15 minutes, and is less affected by food.

  • Vardenafil (Levitra): Also a fast-acting option that can start working in about 30 minutes.
  • Genetics: Genetic makeup plays a role in various health conditions, with differing genetic predispositions between sexes.

  • Anatomy: Body shape differences can affect fat distribution and the risk for conditions like heart disease.

Behavioral and Social Factors

  • Lifestyle: Men, on average, may engage in more risky behaviors and have less healthful diets, contributing to higher disease rates.

  • Societal Perceptions: Women’s health concerns, particularly regarding pain, are sometimes taken less seriously or attributed to psychological causes, leading to delayed diagnosis and treatment.

  • Risk-Taking Behavior: Societal expectations can influence behaviors, with some evidence suggesting men may engage in higher-risk activities.

Key Differences in Common Conditions

  • Heart Disease: Men are more likely to develop heart disease at an earlier age than women.
  • Mental Health: Women have higher rates of arthritis and depression.
  • Reproductive Health: Women’s health includes a focus on reproductive health, family planning, and reducing unintended pregnancies, which is a specific area of women’s health.

How DCM Health Services Address These Differences.

  • Specialized Care: Men’s and women’s health services provide specialized care for conditions that affect one sex more than the other, such as Prostate Health and Erectile dysfunction (ED) as for men and and gynecological health  for women.

  • Preventive Care: Both men’s and women’s health services emphasize preventive and primary care to address acute and chronic conditions and promote general health maintenance.

  • Addressing Disparities: Services work to overcome historical disparities, ensuring all individuals receive appropriate care regardless of gender.

At DCM we address and coach on key components of men’s and women’s health include a balanced diet, regular exercise, and adequate sleep to support physical health, and work life balance.

DCM Health Services IV infusion clinics  offer benefits like enhanced nutrient absorption, rapid hydration, and increased energy by delivering vitamins, minerals, and fluids directly into the bloodstream. This can also provide immune support, improve athletic performance, aid in recovery from illness, and promote overall wellness. These services are available in various our clinics, and we also do  mobile services, allowing for personalized treatments for conditions such as dehydration, fatigue, and nausea.

One of the most common side effects of weight loss injections is stomach problems. Many users experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and dehydration.

Our IV infusion clinic is equipped to handle these side effects and more.

In general, you  need an IV infusion clinic when medications, nutrients, or fluids cannot be taken by mouth or are more effective when administered directly into the bloodstream. Reasons include severe dehydration, chronic conditions like Crohn’s or MS, infections resistant to oral treatments, chemotherapy, and to deliver nutrients or pain medication efficiently. You’ll need a doctor’s prescription and a referral to confirm the specific health need and the appropriateness of IV therapy.

  • Direct and rapid delivery: IV infusions bypass the digestive system, providing faster, more potent effects than oral medications and ensuring immediate absorption of nutrients or fluids.

  • Digestive system issues: If you cannot absorb nutrients or take oral medications due to a gastrointestinal disease, IV therapy can provide necessary fluids, nutrients, or medication.

  • Chronic and complex conditions:Infusion therapy treats chronic conditions like autoimmune disorders(e.g., Crohn’s disease, multiple sclerosis), cancer, and severe infections that require long-term or specialized treatment.

  • Nutritional support: For patients who are malnourished or unable to eat, IVs can deliver vital nutrients, vitamins, and minerals directly into the bloodstream.
We also check and replace vitamins like Vitamin B12, and this can most of the time be replaced by IM injections and not necessarily a whole IV infusion set up.

  • Emergency situations: In cases of trauma, severe bleeding, or anaphylaxis,IVs deliver fluids, blood, or emergency medication rapidly to stabilize the patient.
